Back in the late 1950s the California coastline was covered with tail lights and fins of the cars that would cruise the highway with the top down looking for a chance to race. The hot rods of the era consisted of custom built jalopies that were ramped up versions of street machines that became the parents of the American muscle cars of the late 60s and early 70s. Around the same time that cruising became popular with the teens and twenty somethings, another icon of Americana was created—the drive up diner. With car side service that put gals on roller skates, serving food, the neon illuminated pit stops provided an atmosphere where people could enjoy a classic hamburger, fries, and shake while sitting in their car and checking out the competition that rolled in to see what was shakin.
As a true original of the hot rod circuit the town of Downey became a popular place to pull over and meet fellow street racing enthusiasts. Located 13 miles southeast of Los Angeles the restaurants of Downey drew in a crowd that used the social hub to practice their cruising along the main drag and pick up girls that frequented the diners and burger joints. In its hay day the town attracted people from all of the country that came out to LA in search of fame and fortune as well as vacationers and surfers that sought out the California beach scene. Today the appeal of the original broilers that made the hamburger an American classic still bring tens of thousands of people to the hot spot that has been the backdrop for filmmakers and historians of the 50s pop culture era.

A death, especially the death of a loved one, is a difficult situation for anyone to have to deal with. Funerals are a time for grief and loss, but they can also be a joyful time as people get together to celebrate and recount the life of someone they loved. A soldier who has served in the armed forces of the United States, whether a veteran, head of state, or a soldier killed in battle, is given a special military funeral to honor them for their service to their country. Certain honors and protocols must be followed in a military funeral.
Military members on active duty or in the Selected Reserve, former members on active duty that departed with honor, former members who completed at least one term of enlistment in the Selected Reserve, and former members discharged for injury in the line of duty are all eligible for a military funeral. A funeral for a military veteran may include several honors. A military chaplain may be available for family members. Honor guards may serve in a ceremonial role or serve as pallbearers. The coffin will be draped in the flag of the United States. A rifle party may be formed to offer a three-volley salute. As soon as the graveside services are over, a bugler will play Taps. The flag draping the coffin will then be folded by the honor guard and presented to the next of kin. In some cases, the coffin may then be lowered into the plot by a casket lowering device or in some cases, this may be done after the services are over. Military funeral honors have been created by the government to show respect and gratitude for one who has given service for the country.

Years ago while on summer vacation college students worked to earn money for the next semester’s tuition. Jobs were quite plentiful in the factories looking for seasonal workers. Although the positions were usually menial labor jobs. The financial rewards certainly made up for the job position.
One summer vacation job for me turned into a full-time position at the end of summer. I remember starting to work of a major company that packaged and sold personal care products. I started at the end of the line loading boxes onto pallets. Boy, good those boxes move fast!
Later that summer, I was moved to a position of more responsibility. I went to the front of the line to
load the bottles onto the package filling assembly. This particular line wove up and down like a snake through a tree. So it was important to keep the bottles tight together moving forward onto the liquid packaging line, straight over the bottle encoder.
Today, there is a company in Florida that has developed an inline filling system. Appropriately named, Inline Filling Systems, they are designing sophisticated machines that are simpler to use in today’s industry. They offer quality designs, technical support, and guarantees of machinery. Not only are you able to speak directly with the designer regarding any questions but the company offers superior maintenance for all types of liquid packaging systems.
Although I haven’t had the opportunity to work as a packaging machine operator for Inline Filling Systems, they have been an industry leader for over ten years. There is an open offer to visit the factory located in Southwest Florida by the management team.

When I was a kid I was obsessed with soccer. In elementary school I played soccer at every recess period. The highlight of my day was when the bell would ring, signaling the beginning of recess. I would grab my soccer ball and head out to the field to take on all the boys. As I got older I played on several local soccer leagues. My walls of my room were covered in posters of players like Mia Hamm and John Harkes. I ate candy bars that were sponsored by the US Youth Soccer league. I had my whole soccer career planned out, down to the university that would recruit me and the position I would play on the national women’s team. I played soccer as much as humanly possible and I played hard. But sports are physical. During several aggressive physical games I’d been tripped, knocked around, and had the wind knocked out of me. Unfortunately, it was a couple of days after one aggressive game that I felt the real pain. During some point in a game, someone had run into me, causing my head to snap forward. I felt the pain of that whiplash in my shoulders, neck, and back for days.
If you are someone who has received a sports injury like whiplash, you are undoubtedly feeling the pain of your strained neck and back ligaments. Fortunately, whiplash can be treated through adjustments through a licensed chiropractor. If you are a resident of Utah looking for a Utah County chiropractor, Dry Creek Chiropractic can help. The chiropractors at Dry Creek are trained to treat sports injuries like whiplash and can help you recover and get back in the game.

Hand-drawing architectural plans and designs for pretty much anything is threatening to become a lost art. If it wasn’t for old school college professors who insisted that students learn how to draft everything by hand using a slide ruler, no one under the age of 30 would know how to render by hand now. Digital designs and files are a way of life for the rising generation of drafters and designers, but as with every other industry changing technology, design firms face the problem of what to do with piles and piles of paper files and designs.
Lucky for us, technology has solved that problem too. Hooray for the 21st century! There are now software service companies springing up all over the nation offering paper to CAD scanning services that enable designers to scan old files and create digital files that can be manipulated, changed and updated just as easily as if they were originally created in CAD. They can even generate 3D images from your plans.
The best part of these paper to CAD scanning services is that most of them charge either by the sheet, or by the hour. That means that regardless of how detailed and complex the hard copies of your design drawing are, you can get them all scanned for a set price. That saves a lot of time and money in the long run over manually entering designs into CAD, or storing mountains of paper files in a storage facility. Check out CAD scanning services near you and discover the most exciting time and saving technological advance since CAD itself was introduced.

If you have been looking for an innovative new way to train your employees that is at once engaging as well as effective, maybe now is the time to look into “serious games.” What are serious games, you may ask? It does sound like an oxymoron, but the concept is absolutely ingenious.
The idea is to train your employees on how to handle real-world situations they are likely to encounter in a virtual manner through the use of custom-designed computer games. The use of serious games as training tools has been standard in sectors such as the military for many years, but other businesses are discovering that these games can have applications for their needs as well.
Decisive Point, LLC was a pioneer in the serious games industry since before the term was even coined! Their engineers and designers create state of the art software that will help your employees learn the ropes, providing a highly realistic training environment at a fraction of the cost of other methods.
Although games from Decisive Point are entertaining and engaging, they are definitely not “toys.” They are designed to heighten individual cognitive skills and encourage teambuilding. Serious games are used by not only the military, but also by: governmental agencies, all types of businesses both large and small, and schools and universities. T
They are a valuable tool for first-responder agencies since they allow workers to practice handling emergency situations in a virtual rather than a real-life setting. Training using serious games in these types of contexts saves workers from potential injuries and costs a lot less than doing re-creations: and when the time comes for a real emergency, workers will have practiced a variety of scenarios and will be prepared for just about anything.
If you are interested in finding out how serious games could help your company’s business training plan, contact the original experts at Decisive Point, LLC.

As a kid I grew up in the western United States in a 1970s era ranch style home. For most of my childhood my siblings and I sweated out the hot and dry desert summers with an antiquated swamp cooler that pumped out moist air with the crank of a knob on the wall. It was loud and smelly but the only means of air conditioning available to us. After a sweltering afternoon of playing in the sun, we would come home hot and sweaty and gather in the hall under the swamp cooler in order to make the best use of its limited cooling range. As we got older and central air conditioning became more popular, we eventually convinced our parents that buying central air conditioning unit would be a good idea. I still remember the day it was installed. I watched with joy as the old swamp cooler was pried off the roof and relegated to the back of a truck, never to be seen again. We gathered in the basement to partake of the complete and utter joy of the frigid cold coming through the vents. Central air conditioning was one upgrade my parents have never regretted.
If you are a resident of Ohio looking to upgrade your existing outdated and inefficient cooling system, Logan Services can help. For over forty years Logan Services has specialized in the installation of the latest heating and air conditioning technology to help residents combat the extreme temperatures of changing seasons. If you are looking for heating and air conditioning in Cincinnati then Logan Services is the solution.
